Welcome to the Troop 18 Intranet. This is where the troop provides most of the information scouts need to know about how the troop functions.  Keep this section handy - it is frequently updated.

Meetings

Welcome to the Winnetka Boy Scout Troop 18 website.   Our Troop meetings take place most Tuesday evenings during the school year in the Scout Room at Christ Church on the corner of Oak and Maple in Winnetka.  For exact dates and times, check our Calendar page.  At our weekly meetings, we work on merit badge requirements, advancement to the next rank, play games, and have fun with other Scouts.

Activities

On weekends, we venture out on exciting field trips to work on badges.  For example, during a normal school year, we’ll be visiting the Field Museum, Northwestern’s Dearborn Observatory, the Winnetka Police Department’s Rifle Range, and Fermilab.

Troop 18 also sponsors regular campouts and other outdoor activities, like a two day canoe trip down the Wisconsin River, rock climbing at Devil’s Lake Wi.,  camping out at Starved Rock, Klondike Race at Camp Crown, Snow skiing, paintball, and biking.  And every summer we spend a week at Camp Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation in Pearson, Wisconsin—it’s the highlight of many a Scout’s summer
